Because we recognize that investing in a Catholic education can place a strain on household budgets and because our mission encompasses making the Kennedy Experience available to as many students as possible regardless of income, qualifying families may access financial aid from a wide variety of sources including the Diocese of Erie, the Kennedy Catholic Tuition Assistance Program, Pennsylvania’s Tuition Assistance Program, and more than 17 named and unnamed scholarship funds.
Along with these traditional sources of financial aid, we offer an innovative and exciting program that provides a stipend equal to the cost of tuition to any family that agrees to host a foreign exchanges student enrolled at Kennedy. Now 20 years old, the Exchange Hosting Program represents a wonderful opportunity for host families to share culture and experiences with a teenager from a foreign country and obtain the funding needed to send their child to the school. By any measure Exchange Hosting is a winner for all involved.
Tuition Costs for 2013-2014
$4580.00 base tuition
$500.00 registration, testing and course fees and development fee
International Students $7500.00
The actual cost of educating a Kennedy Catholic student is $6850.00. This means that every student that attends Kennedy receives a $2105.00 scholarship. A quality education is an investment in your child’s future. We strive to keep the cost of this investment as low as possible for the families that we serve. The difference between the actual cost and tuition is made up through continual development efforts and parish subsidies.
Financial Aid Program
Students that are applying to Kennedy Catholic may apply for financial aid. There are two primary sources of financial aid. The Erie Diocese grants awards from the Bishop Assistance plan and from the STAR Foundation. These awards range from $400 - $1000. Applications must be submitted directly to the Diocese. Kennedy Catholic grants awards from the Kennedy Catholic Tuition Assistance Program through the Shenango Valley Foundation (PA Tuition Tax Credit Program). These awards range from $500 to $3000. Only two applications need to be completed; one for both Diocesan grants and one for both Kennedy grants. To be eligible for Kennedy grants, you must apply for Diocesan financial aid. Each parent is also encouraged to inquire at their parish or community organization to determine if they offer any financial aid for high school.
Scholarship Opportunities
Every year more and more students benefit from donors who support the school’s scholarship program. This year 126 scholarships have been awarded to students in grades nine through twelve.
Most of these scholarships are based on financial need, others on academic performance, and some are awareded to students who meet special criteria. All those who value the Kennedy Catholic Experience are grateful that donors continue to bless the school and its students with scholarship opportunities.
