The Kennedy Experience begins with academics that challenge students’ minds and prepares them for success in college and in life.
We offer three distinct academic programs designed to keep students at all levels of ability and achievement excited, involved and engaged. Our teachers constantly encourage students to exercise their minds. To think critically. To challenge the conventional wisdom. To invent. To Create. To Imagine.
Our compelling course of study and commitment to excellence places our grads among the nation’s academic elite. We rank first among all Shenanago Valley High Schools in average verbal and math scores on the SAT so it’s no surprise that 99% of the 362 students who graduated between 2005 and 2009 went on to college.
Perhaps most importantly, at a time when skyrocketing costs threaten to place higher education out of the financial reach of many area families, Kennedy graduates have been awarded an astounding $25,000,000 in scholarships and grants over the past four years, including nearly $6.3 million in 2009 alone.
Exceptional academics and boundless opportunities: two important reasons students value the Kennedy Experience.
PROGRAM LEVELS:
The honors level/advanced placement courses are designed for the academically gifted, the high above average, and the very highly motivated student. Admission to honors level and advanced courses are by invitation based on standardized testing, performance, and recommendation of the department. The college preparatory level is for the strong average to above average student. It is designed to challenge the student and to prepare the student well for admission to and success in college. It is a well-rounded “liberal arts” education on the secondary level. The general academic level is designed for the average and below average student with the goal of providing the student with basic and fundamental knowledge, information, and skills necessary to pursue a career, technical or trade education, or further education on a junior college level.
Kennedy Catholic High School recognizes outstanding achievement, performance, character, service and leadership by inducting students who meet all the requirements and qualifications into various honor societies. Membership is a privilege and not a right. It is an honor bestowed on an individual by the Administration and Faculty. The two societies at are:
